Despite dropping eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was at its highest amount to start a year since 2014, $3.383.
The average price has dropped 11 of the past 12 days to its lowest amount since Jan. 28, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 4.5 cents less than one week ago, 18.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 23 cents higher than one year ago.
The Orange County average price was also at its highest amount to start a year since 2014, $3.341, despite dropping for 12 consecutive days, including eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday, to its lowest amount since Jan. 27.
The Orange County average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 17.1 cents less than one month ago, but 22 cents higher than one year ago.
