A Chicago runner is preparing for the LA Marathon by eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at McDonald's.
    It's not a dare or a statement.

Joe D'Amico is just trying to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Chicago native dubbed the "McRunner" has raised more than $1,700, according to a March 7 blog post.

D'Amico's plan is to eat at McDonald's for 30 days, starting each day with orange juice, pancakes and an Egg McMuffin.

If D'Amico is looking for some dietary variety, there is a Carbo Load Dinner the night before the LA Marathon.

D'Amico, 36, runs 100 miles per week. On March 20 in Los Angeles, D'Amico aims to beat his personal record in the 26.2-mile race: two hours and 26 minutes.
