After the Olympic torch has been extinguished, host countries of the competition are often left with the newly constructed stadiums, ski runs, pools and housing accommodations that make up an Olympic campus.
What happens to the Olympic structures after the athletes have gone back home sometimes reflects the issues that face the host country at the time.
In Sarajevo, for example, the structures built for the 1984 Winter Olympics fell into disrepair and decay following the Bosnian civil war in the 1990s.
The housing built in Turin, Italy, for the 2006 Winter Olympics was left desolate and empty until African refugees began to squat in the apartments in 2015.
Take a look at what's become of some of the previous winter Olympic campuses.
