Dodgers Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen and Corey Seager Highlight NL All-Star Selections

Via the MLB players and managers vote, Los Angeles Dodgers Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen and Corey Seager were all selected to the 2016 All-Star Game on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be well represented during the All-Star Game on July 12 at Petco Park in San Diego.

The boys in blue are sending three players to San Diego as starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, closer Kenley Jansen and shortstop Corey Seager were all named to the mid-summer classic on Tuesday.

Kershaw probably would have been slated to start the game, but he is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a herniated disc in his lower back. On Tuesday, before the team's game against the Baltimore Orioles at Dodger Stadium, Kershaw informed the front office that he planned to attend the game, but would not play.

The 2016 edition of MLB's showcase will be Kershaw's sixth straight All-Star appearance (2011-2016) as he joins Sandy Koufax (1961-1966) and Fernando Valenzuela (1981-1986) as the only Dodger pitchers to appear in six consecutive All-Star games.

Jansen is appearing in his first All-Star game in his seven-year career and becomes the first Dodger closer to be selected since Jonathan Broxton in 2009.

It is also Seager's first All-Star selection as the 22-year-old rookie becomes the youngest position player in franchise history to be named an All-Star.

All three players were selected by players and managers, and not by fans.
