Dodgers to Host LA Kings, Stanley Cup in Ceremony

The Dodgers are hoping some of that championship residue will rub off on them

For the second time in three years the NHL Stanley Cup is getting a first class tour of Southern California and Los Angeles' championship hockey team is happily playing tour guide.

The next stop on the LA Kings celebration journey will be Tuesday at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers will host the Cup, and the team that won it, during a pre-game ceremony about 30 minutes before the 7:10 p.m. first pitch against the Rockies.

It'll also add to an already interesting “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” scrapbook for the Cup.

Kings Defenseman Alec Martinez and some of his teammates took it for a night out on the town, and filled it with M&Ms, according to TMZ.

It was the guest of honor at a parade and rally for the Kings at Staples Center, where L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti let the everyone know how much of a "Big f-----g day" it was.

And, because it’s Hollywood, of course, it had to hang out with a television star.

The Cup’s going to need a vacation with all of this celebrating, but I think I just heard it say it wants to come back next year. I hope the Kings heard it, too.
