JuJu Smith-Schuster Sets Career Highs in Trojans 59-9 Blowout of Idaho

Cody Kessler threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns as the USC Trojans ran and passed all over the Idaho Vandals 59-9 on Saturday night at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

The USC Trojans football program is off to a sensational start to the season as they have taken a wrecking ball to significantly lesser competition.

Cody Kessler threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns as the USC Trojans ran and passed all over the Idaho Vandals 59-9 on Saturday night at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Tailbacks Justin Davis and Tre Madden combined for 114 yards and four touchdowns as each player had two TDs apiece.

JuJu Smitch-Schuster continues to be Kessler's favorite target as the sophomore receiver set a career high with 10 catches for 192 yards and two touchdowns. JuJu brought the Coliseum to its feet when he brought in a 50-yard bomb for Kessler at the end of the first quarter.

The Trojans started off the game running the ball on the paper-thin Vandals defense. Davis ran in the first two USC touchdowns before Kessler found Smitch-Schuster at the end of the quarter.

With the threat of the running game in the minds of the Vandals, the Trojans opened up the pass in the third quarter as Kessler threw a 28-yard dart to Isacc Whitney and another deep ball to Smitch–Schuster for a 44-yard score.

Freshman running back Ronald Jones III carried the ball in the second half, and lead the team in rushing with 8 carries for 83 yards and a TD. Jones III 44-yard scamper that set up the Trojans with 1st and goal from the one-yard line was the cherry on top of Southern Cal's sundae.
