LA Kings Extend Point Streak to Nine Games After OT Loss to Sabres

The Los Angeles Kings have earned a point in nine games in a row after their 2-1 OT loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.

BUFFALO, New York – Ryan O'Reilly snapped the Los Angeles Kings six-game win streak when is overtime goal found the back of the net as he fell to the ice in the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 victory over the two-time Stanley Cup Champions on Saturday night.

Despite the loss, the Kings sent the game to overtime for the second consecutive night, earning a tough point on the road, extending their point streak to nine games as they increased their lead in the NHL's Western Conference Pacific Division.

The Kings point streak was in jeopardy late in the second period when Jake Eichel found Jake McCabe who shot the puck of Jhonas Enroth's right shoulder for the goal, giving the Sabres a 2-1 lead. However, Kings coach Darryl Sutter challenged the play and the goal was disallowed after Buffalo was ruled offside before crossing the blue line.

Marian Gaborik scored the only goal for the Kings in a game that featured former Sabres Enroth and Christian Ehrhoff.

Buffalo snapped a three-game losing streak, and outshot the Kings 30-to-21 in the game, a statistic that is very uncharacteristic of Los Angeles.

The Kings six-game road trip continues on Monday when they travel north to Ottawa to take on the Senators.
