LAPD Investigating Death Threats Against Chris Paul and Wife

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating death threats on Twitter against Clippers' point guard Chris Paul and his wife.

LOS ANGELES – Social media strikes again, but this time it's ugly.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating death threats made on Twitter against Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul and his wife, Jada Crawley, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The threat against CP3 came on March 14th when a Twitter user wrote: "@CP3 if I knew where you lived I'd probably kill your wife and frame you for it. I watch dateline I get away with it."

The tweet was originally seen by Clippers team security, which immediately alerted Paul and the LAPD. According to TMZ, the tweet is just one of a string of incidents for the NBA star who has been dealing with harassing tweets and Instagram comments for over a year.

Paul claims that the troll never threatened physical harm, but was trying to "cyber-humiliate" him by posting comments on family pics. On October 14th, the cyber bully posted a comment on a picture of his wife Jadaby writing "She has a Jay Leno chin."

The investigation is being handled by the LAPD threat management unit, and thus far, no arrests have been made.
