Will Ferrell to Suit Up for Dodgers, Angels in Whirlwind Spring Training Roster Tour

The "Anchorman" and "Old School" star is playing for 10 Major League Baseball teams in one day as part of a film shoot for a Funny Or Die special that will air on HBO

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will share a new roster addition Thursday when they take the field for their spring training games in Arizona.

"Anchorman" and "Old School" star Will Ferrell will suit up for both teams and eight other franchises, all in one day, as part of a film shoot for a Funny Or Die special that will air on HBO later this year. Ferrell will take the field for 10 teams, spending time at every position, as he makes a whirlwind tour of spring training stadiums in Arizona.

The "Saturday Night Live" alumnus and star of the upcoming "Get Hard" with Kevin Hart will begin his day at noon, suiting up for both the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics as the teams square off at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. He will then travel to nearby Tempe, Arizona, joining both the Angels and Chicago Cubs.

Ferrell will then join the Cincinnati Reds, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox -- and finally the Dodgers and San Diego Padres when the two Southern California teams square off under the lights in Peoria, Arizona.

The film project is aimed at raising awareness and funds for the fight against cancer.

"The Dodgers are excited to join MLB in this creative project that involves one of the Dodgers' most beloved fans, Will Ferrell," Dodgers Executive Vice President Lon Rosen said. "We look forward to welcoming Will to Dodger spring training and, most importantly, helping him support Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer."

Memorabilia used during the games in which Ferrell is participating will be auctioned on MLB.com, with proceeds benefiting the cancer-fighting organizations.
