Gold medals are on the line Thursday in women's soccer and water polo as the final four days of competition begin in London.
In water polo, the United States and Commerce's Brenda Villa will be out for a first gold medal when they take on surprising Spain.
Diamond Bar's Alex Morgan, whose game-winner against Canada in the soccer semifinal might be one of the 2012 Olympics most memorable moments, will help Team USA in a rematch of the 2011 World Cup Final.
Women's Volleyball: USA v. South Korea, Semifinal
The United States downed South Korea in their Olympic opener then breezed through the rest of their schedule and into Thursday's semifinals after sweeping the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinals. Japan will take on Brazil in the other semifinal.

Women's Basketball: USA v. Australia, Semifinal
Australia and the United States have met in the last three Olympic finals. They'll have to settle things in the semifinal round this time, their first meeting in the semis since Atlanta 1996. The United States, in search of its fifth consecutive gold, has won all of its Olympic match-ups with Australia. Nobody in the tournament has posed a second-half threat to the United States, which has won by an average of 38 points.

United States v. Japan, Final
There is no proper way to follow the U.S. v. Canada semifinal -- unless it's a rematch of the 2011 World Cup Final with a U.S. team out for redemption at Wembley Stadium. In front of what is expected to be the largest crowd to ever watch an Olympic women's soccer game, Diamond Bar's Alex Morgan and the United States will take on a Japan side that came from behind twice at the 2011 World Cup to win on penalties.

Women's Water Polo: USA v. Spain, Final
There was talk of Spain making waves in the Olympics -- but not waves of this magnitude. Not considered a world power entering the Games, Spain has impressed throughout and even tied the United States in group play. The United States, led by captain Brenda Villa of Commerce, would like to add gold to its medal collection, which consists of a bronze and two silver medals. Villa's experience has been complemented by the play of the United States' youngest player -- 19-year-old Maggie Steffens, a Seal Beach resident. She has a tournament-leading 16 goals.
