Sam Darnold threw for 287 yards and two touchowns as the No. 20 ranked Trojans shocked the No. 4 ranked Washington Huskies, 24-13, on Saturday night in Seattle.

USC just shook up the College Football Playoff.

Sam Darnold threw for 287 yards and two touchowns as the No. 20 ranked Trojans shocked the No. 4 ranked Washington Huskies, 24-13, on Saturday night in Seattle.

The previously undefeated Huskies were overwhelmed by the swarming Trojans defense as they were held to just 13 points, 35 shy of their average of 48.3 points entering the game.

The USC defense held the best rushing team in the Pac 12 conference, under 90 yards rushing and just 281 total yards in the game. They intercepted Jake Browning two times in the game and recorded a safety with 58 seconds left to seal the victory.

Ronald Jones II rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown and Darnold scrambled for 15 yards on four rushes.

Browning, a Heisman hopeful entering the game, threw for 259 yards and a touchdown, but had two crucial interceptions that cost the Huskies.

John Ross torched the Trojans with eight catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. Browning connected with Ross on a 70-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter that brought the game within a score.

After an interception by Darnold, the Huskies had a chance to cut the lead to just one point, but Jack Jones made a huge play for the Trojans, blocking Cameron Van Winkle's 38-yard field goal attempt, giving USC great field possession on the ensuing TD drive.

Ross juked cornerback Adore'e Jackson who slipped on the play, leaving Ross wide open for the long touchdown strike.

Jackson got revenge as he intercepted his second pass of the game with under four minutes to go on the Huskies side of the field. Browing escaped the pressure and threw a pass across the field that was jumped by Jackson on the Washington 35-yard-line.

Darreus Rogers and Daniel Imatorbhebhe both caught touchdown passes for the Trojans. Rogers had a great game with six catches for 84 yards and Imatorbhebhe caught five balls for 78 yards.

The Trojans top receiver, Juju Smith-Schuster caught just three pases for 41 yards.

USC has won six games in a row and are 6-1 overall since redshirt freshman, Darnold took over the quarterback position against Utah. Darnold was excellent against the best team in the Pac 12, and has the Trojans quickly climbing the ranks in the Pac 12 South as they are just one game behind Colorado for the division lead.
