Yasiel Puig: Find out why the Dodgers Star Crashed a Colorado Prom

Find out why Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig crashed a Colorado Prom over the weekend.

LITTLETON, Colorado – How many of you remember your senior prom? Well, for some students at Chatfield High School in Colorado, they will remember theirs forever.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, crashed the high school's party over the weekend while the team was in Denver playing the Colorado Rockies.

Puig and many of the students took to Twitter to post images of the event, with the Cuban slugger posing with the high school's baseball team.

There's been a lot of speculation as to the reason Puig went to the Chatfield High Dance, from he went as a date, to the event was held in the team hotel. However, NBC LA has the truth.

Straight from the Wild Horse's mouth himself, Puig went to the dance to surprise the daughter of a family friend who is a student at Chatfield High.

Puig was asked by the media the next day at batting practice if he danced at the prom to which he replied, "yes," with a wry smile.

Puig is off to a sensational start on the young season batting .294 with two home runs and eight RBIs, in addition to his two highlight reel plays over the weekend.

On Friday, Puig threw out Rockies' rookie Trevor Story from right field as he tried to leg out a triple, and on Sunday, he made a leaping catch, crashing into the wall in right field before crumbling to the ground.
