Resident in a neighborhood northwest of downtown Los Angeles were evacuated overnight during a SWAT standoff during an anti-gang operation.
Two subjects were barricaded in an apartment in the Westlake District after authorities attempted to serve warrants in connection with the anti-gang operation. Streets near Hoover and San Marino streets were closed and residents were evacuated.
The location is just south of Hoover Street Elementary School.

Residents were escorted to Metro buses as SWAT personnel responded. It was not immediately clear how many people were evacuated.
At about 7 a.m., aerial video showed law enforcement agents taking two people into custody at the end of the standoff. Residents later returned to their homes.
