Stolen English Bulldog Puppies Found, Two Suspects Arrested

Two English Bulldog puppies stolen outside of the Hemet Valley Mall were reunited with their owner Thursday and two suspects were in custody.

Quail Valley residents Samuel Ramirez, 20, and Sergio Ramirez, 18, are accused of forcefully taking the puppies from their owner at about 7:20 p.m. Saturday outside the mall in the 2300 block of West Florida Avenue, Hemet Police Lt. Eddie Pust said.

Samuel turned himself in to the California Highway Patrol office in Temecula on Tuesday and Sergio was arrested Wednesday near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside, according to jail records.

Samuel's bail has been set at $65,000 while Sergio's bail has been set at $60,000.

Once in custody, neither suspect would disclose the location of the puppies, but after following up on further leads, officers found the canines in a Sun City Motel, according to Pust.

The puppies were reunited with their owner Thursday and the suspects were booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Center on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

In addition, Samuel was suspected of a probation violation.
