Structure Fire in Fountain Valley Damages Dozens of Vehicles

A structure fire that broke out early Saturday morning in Fountain Valley caused about 40 vehicles to catch on fire and affected about 45 people in the apartment units.

The fire broke out in a carport near an apartment complex where the charred roof collapsed and about a dozen vehicles were totaled, according to authorities.

Various fire agencies were on scene to help combat the fire including those from Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley.

It took the fire crews about 30 minutes to put out the fire.

The 15 families affected were evacuated and Red Cross was on scene to assist, according to authorities.

The management team from the apartment assisted in finding these affected families temporary shelter in hotels.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
