Months after a man was murdered outside a Riverside gas station, detectives released new surveillance video in hopes that it could generate leads in the cold case.
The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. at a 76 gas station near the intersection of Madison Street and Indiana Avenue in June. Months later, investigators were still trying to find a motive for why someone shot Gabriel Cruz, a 52-year-old homeless man.
"This is cold-blooded," said Riverside Police Department Officer Ryan Railsback.

Surveillance video captured the passenger of a sliver sedan getting out of the vehicle and quickly walking over to the side of the gas station. That's when police say the passenger fired multiple shots at Cruz before getting back in the car and taking off.
Cruz was left bleeding on the sidewalk and later died of his injures after being taken to a local hospital.
"We don't have anything that is leading us in a direction where they (the shooter and Cruz) either knew each other or they had some type of altercation prior to the shooting," Railsback said.
Police are hoping the video encourages people to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call the Riverside Police Department.
