Investigators released surveillance video Monday that shows the suspected gunman who authorities believe shot four people outside of the standard hotel, killing one of the victims.
Investigators were trying to identify the man who could been seen in the video entering an elevator wearing a black trench coat and later also sitting in a hallway.
The shooting was reported just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South Flower Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators said an altercation began at the hotel over access to a birthday party. The altercation proceeded down at the lobby and continued onto the hotel's parking lot, according to the LAPD.
The victims were transported to a hospital where one was pronounced dead. Another victim was paralyzed, according to LAPD. The remaining victims were listed in stable condition.
