A suspect -- who was believed to be armed with a machete -- was shot and killed Saturday by at least one Los Angeles Police Department officer, authorities said.
It happened after 7 p.m. in the 8100 block of De Soto Avenue, police said.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment and later died, police said. No officers were injured.
A desk officer at the LAPD Topanga Station confirmed the suspect is a man.
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
