Woman Sought in Anaheim Airbnb Theft

Police requested the public's help Tuesday in identifying a woman who stole supplies, furniture and more from an Airbnb apartment she rented, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

The woman rented the apartment, located on the 1800 block of South College Boulevard in Anaheim, on July 27. When the owner returned two days later, he discovered all appliances, furniture, mirrors and wall ornaments had been stolen, police said.

The city of Anaheim passed an ordinance in June that would phase out short-term rental companies like Airbnb. Local residents complained short-term guests were ruining their neighborhoods with noise, trash and parking issues.

Airbnb has filed a lawsuit against the city. Existing permit holders, starting Thursday, have 18 months to seize operations of short-term rentals.

The woman, pictured in surveillance footage, was described as white, 5-foot-2, 160 lbs with dark hair and wearing a Nirvana tank top and prescription glasses.

A man, who was not pictured, was also sought in connection with the thefts. He was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-5, heavy build, with short black hair and tattoos on his right arm.

No vehicle was seen, police said.
