2 Found Dead Inside Seal Beach Home After SWAT Standoff

Two people were found dead early Monday inside a Seal Beach residence following a SWAT standoff.

Police received a 911 call at about 7 p.m. from a woman asking for help inside an apartment complex near the 100 to 200 block of Seventh Street, Seal Beach police Sgt. Michael Henderson said. The call was disconnected and soon after, police received calls reporting several gunshots, Henderson said.

Residents reported hearing a helicopter overhead telling residents to take shelter in their homes and some residents of an apartment building were said to be evacuated. A police SWAT team was on the scene in what was considered a barricade situation.

No further shots were reported after the initial shots, he said. SWAT members entered the building early Monday and found the two bodies.

Details about the deceased were not immediately available.
