One person who was carrying a gun was killed after an officer-involved shooting Thursday morning in the north San Fernando Valley, police said
The person had pointed a gun at his head, then pointed it at officers when the shooting occurred, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. No officers were injured.
The person was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The shooting occurred near Sylmar's Olive Vista Middle School, which was placed on lockdown during the investigation.
