Teen Arrested for Alleged Duarte High School Threats Posted on Instagram

Temple Station detectives arrested a 15-year-old who allegedly posted threats Duarte High School on his Instagram.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for posting threats directed at Duarte High School, authorities said Thursday.

Detectives from the sheriff's Temple Station arrested the Duarte boy for allegedly posting to Instagram criminal threats directed at Duarte High School.

"Detectives believe it to be an isolated incident and no further threat exists," according to a sheriff's department statement.

No details about the boy's custody status was immediately available.

Separately detectives Wednesday were investigating a threat against an elementary school in Lennox, an unincorporated area near Inglewood.

Investigators at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's South Los Angeles Station became of aware on Monday of the threat targeting Lennox Middle School, authorities said.

The threat was circulating on social media, according to Deputy Charles Moore of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

"At this time, detectives have been unable to identify the source or validity of the threat," Moore said.

Station personnel will continue to work with the school and Lennox School District personnel "to ensure an new information is investigated thoroughly for the continued safety of students and staff."
