Thieves Who Stole Thousands From ATMs in Marina del Rey Sought

Sheriff's detectives Thursday released surveillance images of five suspects involved in the theft of more than $15,000 from a hotel automated teller machine and investigators believe they were involved in an earlier theft in the same area of about the same amount.

A hacking device was used in the thefts, which occurred about 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 1:20 p.m. on the following day at the Marriott hotel at 4100 Admiralty Way, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"The suspects are believed to be involved in a similar incident on Sept. 12 ... at 4111 Via Marina in Marina del Rey, where they also withdrew over $15,000 in cash," according to a sheriff's department statement.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects, three males and two females, was urged to call (310) 242-6206 to speak with Detective Banks.
