A stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Malibu and Topanga will be closed overnights this week, beginning Monday, so crews can perform repair work on storm-eroded embankments.
The street will be closed between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Drive from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, continuing for four nights.
Caltrans officials said multiple rock and debris slides occurred in the canyon during this year's storms, necessitating work to stabilize the hillside.
Caltrans urged motorists to use the Ventura (101) Freeway, Las Virgenes Road and Malibu Canyon Road as alternate routes, but drivers were being warned to expect delays.
