A transformer exploded early Tuesday morning and triggered a power outage in the West Hills area, police said.
The outage was reported just after 1 a.m. near Vanowen Street and Platt Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.
Residents called police reporting an apparent transformer explosion before the outage, according to the LAPD.
