2 Killed in Multiple-Vehicle Koreatown Crash

A vehicle hit another car, kept going and then got in a fatal crash

Two men were killed Wednesday afternoon in a multiple-vehicle crash in Koreatown.

A 60-year-old man was driving on 8th Street around 3 p.m., when he crashed into a car on Hobart Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He then kept going and hit a car further down the street that had a man and a woman, both 50, standing behind it.

The male pedestrian suffered a "severe traumatic injury to (a) lower extremity" and was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The 60-year-old man driving was also taken to a hospital, where he too was pronounced dead, officials said. A passenger in his car was evaluated at the scene, but declined to be taken to a hospital, Stewart said.

The female pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized in fair condition.
