Power Restored After Overnight Crash Leaves 1,000 Without Electricity

More than 1,000 people in the San Fernando Valley were affected by a power outage due to a downed power pole that was struck by a vehicle Monday evening.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call regarding a traffic incident at approximately 8:09 p.m. on Monday at the 7200 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue, according to officials.

Residents were initially estimated to receive power back in their homes within six hours, according to Kristy Holland fromt the Los Angeles Department of Power and Water.

Crews were able to restore electricity to businesses before 4 a.m., but warned that all residents may not have their power back immediately.
