Vigil Held for Barber Shot, Killed Outside Hawthorne Barbershop

A vigil was held Saturday evening for a barber who was shot to death in front of a barbershop in Hawthorne, where another person was also shot.

The shooting was reported about 11 a.m. Friday in the 14100 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, according to Sgt. Jennifer Roth of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Information Bureau.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other was in stable condition, Roth said.

No details were released about what led to the shooting and no suspect information was immediately available.

The victim's family and co-workers identified him to reporters as Paul "PJ" Foster, a hard-working father of two.

The vigil took place Saturday evening in front of En Effect Barber Shop, at 14114 S. Crenshaw Blvd.
