America’s beloved broadcaster, Vin Scully, is coming out of retirement for two days this summer, but it’s not to call another baseball game.
Rather, Scully will lend his iconic voice to a historic orchestral work that will be performed live at the Hollywood Bowl.
The former voice of the Dodgers will narrate "Lincoln Portrait" by Aaron Copland, which combines Abraham Lincoln's words with orchestral music, according to the MLB.
Scully’s performances will be featured in the July 13 and July 18 shows, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
Scully joins the star-studded list of readers who have narrated the show about Honest Abe since it first premiered in 1942, including Walter Cronkite, Bill Clinton and Neil Armstrong.
Scully, 89, retired in 2016 after 67 years of announcing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
