Frustrated Bank Robber Exits Without Cash

A man tried to rob a bank in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood Wednesday afternoon but gave up while waiting for the cash and fled, police said Thursday.

The attempted robbery was reported at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday at a bank in the 1500 block of Polk Street.

The man, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, entered the bank and slipped a demand note to a 52-year-old female teller, police said.

While waiting for the teller to return with the money, the suspect got frustrated and left the bank.

He has not been found as of Thursday morning, police said.

No one was injured in the attempted robbery, according to police.
