‘In Cowstody': Cows Found Wandering Down Route 59 in Lake County Reunited With Owner

“The cows told us it was some ‘bull’ that we wouldn’t let them run down Rte 59,” police tweeted

Two runaway cows have been reunited with their owner after being discovered wandering down a main road in Lake County.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office tweeted photos Monday morning showing two cows roaming along Route 59.

“Attn Lake County: Do you know the owner of these Highland Cows?????? If so call LCSO so we can return these furry creatures home and stop them from wandering onto Rte 59,” the tweet read.

The tweet included photos of officers escorting the animals in their journey.

About an hour later, the department said the cows have been reunited with their Illinois owner.

“The cows told us it was some ‘bull’ that we wouldn’t let them run down Rte 59,” the tweet read. “We told them they were moooooving too slow!”
