Police Thursday released surveillance video of a suspect who investigators believe is responsible for at least seven residential and auto burglaries in the West Los Angeles area.
The suspect has been recorded wearing a ski mask and disabling cameras before forcing entry into apartment buildings. He was also recorded entering underground parking areas and breaking into parked vehicles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Those crimes occurred between Sept. 18 and Sept. 26, police said.
Around 2:15 a.m. on Oct. 12, the suspect was recorded for the first time without his mask, attempting to enter an apartment building in the 11600 block of Montana Avenue in Brentwood, police said.
"The suspect had not yet donned his usual ski mask and (hooded sweatshirt)," according to a police statement. "The suspect then crossed the street and burglarized an apartment building in the same block."
The suspect is black, 40-50 years old, about 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs over 200 pounds. While committing the latest crime, he was wearing a dark Nike Pro balaclava (hooded mask), a dark hoodie over a white T-shirt and red New Balance shoes.
