A woman was charged Friday for allegedly killing a 62-year-old man whose body was found in the back yard of a home in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.
Kristen Olson, 39, is scheduled to appear today in a Compton courtroom in connection with the charge stemming from the death of Royce Lanham.
Lanham was found dead about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of West 173rd Street, between Vermont Avenue and the Harbor (110) Freeway, authorities said.
Olson, who was inside a residence near where the body was discovered, was taken into custody following a standoff with officers, police said. She has remained jailed in lieu of $2 million bail since her arrest.
An autopsy on Lanham is pending, according to the coroner's office.
