A woman remained jailed Friday in lieu of $100,000 bail in connection with four felony charges stemming from the hit-and-run death of a 64-year-old woman killed en route to visit her mother in south Los Angeles.
Iyerusalem Kidane Bihon, 36, pleaded not guilty Thursday to one count each of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run driving resulting in death to another person and driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury in connection with the Feb. 24 crash that killed Brenda Scott of Carson.
The criminal complaint includes allegations that Bihon personally inflicted great bodily injury on the victim and fled the scene of the crime.
Scott was driving a Mercedes-Benz south in the 9500 block of Hoover Street when a silver Jeep Renegade ran a stop sign at 95th Street and slammed into her car, police said. She died at the scene.
The Jeep's driver and passenger got out of the vehicle and ran away, police said.
Bihon turned herself into authorities Monday and was charged two days later.
She is due back in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom March 16, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to require her to stand trial.

If convicted as charged, Bihon could face up to 10 years in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
