A woman in her 40s was found dead in Littlerock early Saturday morning, California Highway Patrol officials said.
According to CHP Officer Peter Bishop, the woman was walking westbound on Pearblossom Highway when she was fatally struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
A passing motorist noticed the body on the side of the road and notified authorities.
The woman was wearing a pink blouse, black jeans and white tennis shoes.
There are no known witnesses and officials do not have any description of the vehicle involved in the crash, but said that the vehicle should have heavy front damage with a busted windshield.
