A woman was stabbed to death Saturday in Santa Clarita, authorities said.
It was reported at 5:53 p.m. in the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon, Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.
The woman died at the scene, Rouzan said.
Detectives received a call around 5:46 p.m. from a woman in the Burbank area. She said she was with the suspect, her daughter's live-in girlfriend.
The suspect told the mother she was involved in a "verbal altercation" with the victim at their Santa Clarita apartment.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect at the mother's residence in Burbank.
