A woman in Corona was attacked on her evening walk near the area of Griffin Way and Richey Street around 11 p.m. on Sunday night, according to the Corona Police Department.
While walking on the north side of Griffin Way, she was approached by a man who asked the woman for the time before beating her, according to police.
The woman screamed for help and fought back, which allowed her to escape, police said. She suffered minor injuries and received treatment at a hospital.
A detailed description of the attacker was not avaialable.
The Corona Police Department said it has not received any other similar incidents reported within the city and reminded the community to stay on well-lit paths or walk with others when out at night.
The Corona PD also reminded the public to report suspicious individuals by calling 951-736-2330, option 3, or dial 9-1-1 in an emergency.
