Woman Struck Twice by Different Vehicles in Hit-and-Run Crashes in Van Nuys

A 24-year-old driver was arrested Thursday for allegedly striking and killing a woman on a bicycle in Van Nuys and leaving the scene, but a second hit-and-run suspect who ran over the downed victim remained at large.

Police told reporters at the scene of the collision at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Stagg Street, near Saticoy Street, that the arrested driver is Eric Limon, who was taken into custody at his home.

An officer was flagged down at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday and directed to the intersection, where the woman was lying in the roadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The woman, in her 50s, died at the scene, the coroner's office reported.

Surveillance video showed she was hit by one vehicle and then run over by a second, police said. The dead woman's bicycle has not been found. Investigators believe it was pinned under Limon's car and dragged from the scene.

The second driver who ran over the victim and then left the scene is believed to be a woman, police said.

Anyone with information about the fatal collision or who finds a damaged bicycle in the area was urged to call the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000. After-hours and weekend calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-247. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222- TIPS.
