WOW Air Offers Flight Deals From LAX to Iceland

WOW air will begin offering its low-cost flights to Iceland and other European countries out of Los Angeles International Airport starting this summer, offering rates that start at $99.

LAX passengers of the Icelandic airline can opt to connect to European cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm -- after a one-hour stopover in Iceland -- with one-way rates
starting at $199, according to the airline.

The first flight will be between Reykjavik and Los Angeles on June 15, with departure flights at LAX to be available four days a week. Tickets went on sale today.

Rates begin at $99 for trips to Iceland and $199 for European destinations, varying depending on the schedule, according to airline representatives.

WOW air founder Skuli Mogensen said the introduction of flights out of LAX, as well as San Francisco, "is a game changer for WOW air and arguably the travel industry, making travel to Iceland and other European countries both
easy and affordable from California."

"I look forward to welcoming Californians to Iceland and Europe with our super low fares to Europe," Mogensen said.

Deborah Flint, executive director of the city agency that operates LAX, said "Angelenos will benefit from having low-cost nonstop flights to Reykjavik -- a new destination for LAX -- and more options to the major cities of Europe."

WOW air also plans to begin flights out of Montreal and Toronto this year. Flights began in Boston and Baltimore/Washington, D.C. in 2015.

The California flights will be served by three new Airbus A330-300's, which carry 340 passengers.
