Yellow Shotgun That Went Missing From Police Found

The weapon went missing Oct. 3.

A yellow shotgun loaded with less-than-lethal bean bag rounds - but can be used with lethal ammunition - was found Sunday, a week later after it went missing from Compton, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were asking for the public’s help in finding the weapon, which is very noticeable with its yellow coloring. The gun is also stamped with "Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department."

Detectives have arrested a man in connection with the missing shotgun, and an investigation was underway.

No further details on the incident were provided.

The stun bag gun went missing on Oct. 3, authorities said. A deputy reported that at the end of his shift, the gun in a black canvas bag was not in the trunk of his patrol car. All other equipment was present in the car.

Officers at the Compton Police Station did an extensive search, but did not find the shotgun until Sunday.

The yellow shotgun was loaded with four less than lethal bean bags.
