Two Men Assaulted by Armed Party Crashers in Yorba Linda

One man was shot and another man was hit with a pistol during the assault.

Two people were injured after two armed men crashed a party in Yorba Linda on Wednesday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., officials responded to a shooting in the 21000 block of Dunrobin Way, according to Lt. Fred Thompson of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

One man was shot in the leg while another man was believed to be hit on the head with a pistol.

The gunmen were not invited to the party but showed up anyways. The shooting occurred after it was made clear they were unwanted.

An altercation ensued and the gunmen were just firing their weapons at some point, according to officials. 

The victims' injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, Thompson said. They have been transported to a hospital to treat their injuries. 

Orange County Sheriffs are investigating the assaults.

The identities of the victims and gunmen were not immediately available.

A motive for the assault is unknown.
