FoLAR advocates for the Los Angeles River through devoted effort to restoring the LA River’s natural habitat and is fueled by the dream of a River free from concrete. Since 1986, we have led the River Movement. We respect the practical concerns of a modern, cosmopolitan city, but believe the river can work in concert with development to provide so much more for the people and environment of Los Angeles.
Opportunity to volunteer in cleaning the Los Angeles River. The River is a vital resource for the city and the clean-up draws attention to its place within Los Angeles and what it provides to the residents who live alongside it and to those who use it for recreation.
