It took more than six hours, but a suspect linked to an early morning carjacking in Santa Ana was arrested Wednesday afternoon without incident.
Police were still looking for two additional suspects into the evening.
The original incident occurred just after 6 a.m., when three men dressed in black approached the victim, who was standing near his vehicle in the 1100 block of West 15th Street in Santa Ana.
Police said one of the suspects pulled out a gun, and ordered the victim to lay on the ground. He then took his wallet, cellphone, keys and 2001 Toyota Camry.
A Santa Ana Police Department spokesman said the victim was not seriously hurt.
Fast forward to 2 p.m., Wednesday. Neighbors reported suspicious activity in the 1900 block of South Flower Street. That brought out a quick response. Police said three men fled on foot when officers arrived. Two of them got away.
Police set up a perimeter from the 600 to 900 block of West Saint Andrew Place, near Santa Ana Centennial Park. Officers went door to door, but had not arrested the two other suspects by late evening.
