Breaking an Earth Day World Record

In exchange for new and gently used goods, Universal Studios Hollywood is throwing a bash to celebrate Earth Day

Recycling may be a no-brainer way to celebrate Earth Day this weekend. But how about going beyond cardboard, and recycling your clothes?

On Saturday and Sunday, NBC4 will join their sister-company Universal Studios Hollywood and Goodwill Southern California will attempt to break the world record for most donations received.

Just bring your new and gently-used items to Universal Studios Hollywood (map below) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or any Goodwill Southern California locations on Saturday, April 21, or Sunday, April 22, to be a part of history.

As if helping others and cutting down waste weren’t enough incentives, there will be giveaways, prizes and a free outdoor performance by B. Howard at 5 Towers concert venue at Universal CityWalk at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 22.

Participants can also enter an Earth Day Sweepstakes to win a 2-night stay at Sheraton Universal Hotel and four 2-day passes to Universal Studios Hollywood.
