For over 60 years Junior Blind's mission has been to help children and adults who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled achieve independence. In 1953, Junior Blind was established on the belief that children who were blind or visually impaired deserved the opportunity to lead fuller and more independent lives.
The Junior Blind Olympics is the premier sporting event for blind, visually impaired, or multi-disabled youth, ages 6-19. The event helps youth to develop the skills they need to thrive in adulthood by promoting fitness and self-esteem while offering opportunities for learning, socialization and teamwork.
