Our latest app update allows you to select up to five categories of push alerts you want to receive from NBC4 Los Angeles on your iPhone, Android or tablet app. We've included topics that matter most to you, based on your feedback.

You can choose as many as you'd like or just a few.

How to Recieve Alerts: To personalize your notifications, first check "Allow Notifications" when you download the app update. Click on the hamburger menu in the upper left of the app screen and then hit the gear icon in the upper right. On iOS devices, select Alert Settings under Notifications. On Android devices, select Alert Settings under Alerts.

The news alert categories will automatically be on if you allowed notifications on your device. Make your selections by toggling the blue button off or on next to each topic.

Breaking News:  Get breaking alerts about the latest and most urgent stories of the day in Southern California, around the U.S. and across the globe.

Weather: Delivers NBC4's daily forecast. Also get a heads up regarding any significant developing storms that may impact our area and regular updates as that weather unfolds.

Watch Live: See it as it happens. We'll bring you SoCal car chases, breaking news, updates on developing stories, rocket launches and other live events.

Traffic Alert: Trying to get somewhere? We can help. We'll let you know about major traffic tie-ups that could have you in a jam, whether you're headed to work, leaving for home or trying to beat holiday traffic.
