Good Shepherd Shelter of Los Angeles

The Good Shepherd Shelter is the oldest domestic violence shelter in Los Angeles. Our mission is to stop the generational cycle of domestic violence by providing individualized, comprehensive services and shelter to battered women and children and by raising the level of community awareness through advocacy and education. We are unique because we are the only domestic violence shelter in Los Angeles that offers an on-site elementary school and an Adult Education Center for its clients.

Most of our families are coming from Latino backgrounds, and they do not speak English very well. In order to get the maximum benefit from our domestic violence group discussions, we are in need of a Spanish/ English interpreter. Competent Spanish / English interpreting will ensure that our mothers are able to share their difficult experiences while feeling confident that they will be understood.  To volunteer, click here
