Free Food

Many families need support during this thought time, and the Brotherhood Crusade is working hard to spread some holiday cheer in Leimert Park by handing free food and toys to hundreds of families in need. Mekahlo Medina reports for the NBC4 News on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020.

A local café that fed seniors for free at the beginning of the pandemic has started up again. And even though the pandemic has hit them hard again, the husband and wife team feel they have a duty to their community.

The pandemic has hit low-income families hard in Southern California. People experiencing financial difficulties can obtain free food through public organizations, like food banks, or private organizations, such as churches and other venues.

Here’s a list of the places where you can get a free food basket to celebrate Thanksgiving.
