High winds across Southern California prompted a red flag warning Monday, putting fire crews on high alert for possible wildfires.

Strong winds in several areas of Southern California have prompted advisories and warnings. John Cádiz Klemack reports for the NBC4 News at 6 a.m. on Nov. 4, 2024.

A wind advisory remains in effect until at least 3 p.m. Saturday in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys as well as the Santa Monica Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be a warm day throughout Southern California, but rising temperatures are expected to pick later this week. NBC4’s Belen de Leon has the First Alert Forecast for June 3, 2024.

Temperatures in Southern California will be increasing in the coming days, marking the first significant heat of the season.
