Tongan community members in the Bay Area are worried for loved ones following a volcanic eruption in Tonga.

This video shows a truck that was partially submerged in a parking lot at the Santa Cruz Harbor Saturday. Rising waters pushed boats all over the place, even forcing people to scramble to safety as a tsunami advisory was still in effect for the area.

A tsunami advisory has been issued for parts of coastal Bay Area and Santa Cruz, the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office confirmed.

An undersea volcano erupted in spectacular fashion near the Pacific nation of Tonga on Saturday, sending large tsunami waves crashing across the shore and people rushing to higher ground. A tsunami advisory was in effect for Hawaii and the U.S. Pacific coast.
